Nestling in a wide plain covered in meadows and surrounded by thick conifer woods, the village is dominated by the Pale of San Martino range, a group of bizarre and fantastic peaks that has inspired a lot of legends. A winter holiday in San Martino (1450m) offers the emotions guaranteed by ski snow, as well as shopping opportunities, great fun in the typical inns and restaurants and all the events you can find in any lively and cosmopolitan centre. Around the village you’ll find the ski-lifting systems that take you to the long tracks part of the Malghe Carousel and Colverde. The San Martino ski area enjoys a unique position in the Dolomites: it is the southern point of the Dolomiti Superski carousel that has plenty of snow due to favourable weather conditions and temperature that are never too cold with countless sunny days. The ski runs extend for over 60 km at altitudes between 1400 and 2300 metres, within extraordinary natural scenery. There are pistes for all levels, especially for very good skiers, rarely overcrowded: all in all there are 25 ski lifts which give capacity of almost 30,000 people per hour.
