Colfosco, situated at 1,645 m asl, is the highest located village of Alta Badia. What is particularly striking about Colfosco is first of all its position on the brink of the Puez-Odle nature park as well as at the foot of the majestic Sella massif, which time and again attracts a large number of people to Alta Badia. However, Colfosco can not only be reached via Val Badia, but also via Passo Gardena. Furthermore Colfosco is a perfect starting point for hikes, alpine and mountain bike tours and is perfect for those who seek relaxation. Eight high alpine routes snake its way throughout the mountains of Alta Badia. In winter Colfosco is an ideal place for performing any kind of winter sports. Moreover adults and children enjoy the children’s zoo in the heart of the village, where you can observe different animal species. Also information about farmers’ lives in this region are provided. A characteristic feature of the Ladin population is their tradition consciousness. That is also why many customs and traditions have been preserved in this valley. In the course of the year there are several events which are aimed at living up these customs.
