Description: Is a historic villa located just north of Lucca. The fashion for country villas as a place to relax and recharge was started in the 14th century. Villa Bocca is a perfect example of a country retreat for the nobility and was built in 1729. It is set in a huge private country estate of vineyards and olive groves and still produce wine and olive oil today. This grand villa is exceptionally spacious and provides a stunning setting for a special event or family retreat. The nobility started is a perfect base, for exploring Lucca, which is just 10 .15 min drive into the town centre. It is within a 30 min drive of the Tuscan coast and chic beach resorts such as Forte dei Marmi. Renaissance Florence is a 45 min drive.
Rooms: Ground Floor: There is an entrance hall with traditional black and white tiles. This opens on the right hand to a huge, professionally equipped Tuscan kitchen with a dining table that can seat up to 24 guests. To the left, there is a large utility room and 2 guest bathrooms. There is a large dining room that connects to the kitchen and a double sitting room with frescoed ceiling and log fireplace (working fireplace). There are 2 additional sitting rooms, one is used as a library and has a wood burning stove and the other is a music and TV room with satellite TV. As in many historic family villas built there is a pretty family chapel on the corner of the villa which is accessed from outdoors. First Floor: An original stone staircase from the ground floor living room leads to the first floor. To the right, large double doors lead to what was originally the ballroom. Also on this floor are 2 double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms with tub and shower. Second Floor On the second floor there are 2 twin bedrooms (can be made doubles on request(Queens)) with en-suite bathrooms with shower and tub. There is also another twin bedroom which also has an en-suite bathroom with shower and tub. Stairs lead to a large corridor with 3 twin bedrooms (can be made doubles (Queen beds) on request). These rooms share a bathroom with tub and shower. Continuing along the corridor and down a few steps there are 2 bedrooms, one with 2 single beds and 1 small bed suitable for a child, and one triple. These bedrooms share a bathroom with shower. At the end of the corridor, there is another triple bedroom (2 beds can be made a double (Queen bed)) with external bathroom with shower and tub.
Equipment: (gas, water, electricity), linen and towels (changed weekly), maid service mid week (6 hours), firewood for the wood stove and fireplaces, final cleaning, local taxes. Heating - metered, extra maid service per hour, phone, internet if required.
