Description: This hotel is named after its most illustrious owner Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere, who later became Pope Giulio II, patron of artists of the calibre of Michelangelo and Raffaello. The building is the result of the careful restoration of an 11th century Benedictine Abbey and of the renaissance Villa commissioned by Giuliano della Rovere in 1470.
Rooms: 30 rooms, all with air-conditioning, hydro-massage bath or shower, satellite channels, pay-TV, phone, mini-bar and a safe.
Equipment: It is surrounded by a large park which boasts of a travertine swimming pool from which enchanting panorama of Colle Val d’Elsa may be enjoyed. The hotel offers ample congress areas in the noble salons of the Villa, as well an area specially set aside for more numerous events. The restaurant-cum-wine cellar “Il Cardinale” is located in the Villa’s cellars and combines a traditional Tuscan cuisine with an ample selection of Italian wines.
